Hallam Road Landfill
The Hampton Park facility includes our commercial landfill, a public drop-off area and a Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Sorting Facility operated by Outlook as well as an Education Centre for schools, communities, and businesses.
The Hallam Road Landfill provides responsible environmental management of waste that cannot yet be reused or recycled from households, businesses and industry in the eastern and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Hallam Road Landfill Open Hours:
Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday: 6:00am - 1:00pm (outside these hours by arrangement)
Sunday: 7:00am - 12:00pm
Public holidays: 6:00am - 3:00pm (customers will need to notify the weighbridge if they are there after 2:30pm)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Veolia requires notification of any trucks likely to arrive less than 30 minutes before the listed closing time. If you are aware of any late disposals, please contact the Hallam Road Weighbridge 03 9554 4512
Our Outlook Transfer Station can support public recycling and disposal needs, however the landfill is not open to the public.

The onsite gas capture system converts biogas to energy and contributes enough electricity to the network to supply power to some 15,000 homes per year.
Currently the Hallam Road Landfill deploys:
- 33 groundwater monitoring bores
- 84 gas monitoring bores
- 15 leachate sumps
The Hampton Park smart cell® site has Environmental Management ISO 14001 and Occupational Health & Safety AS4801 certifications.
Under the current Planning Permit No. 930016A this smart cell® is permitted to operate until December 31, 2040. The smart cell® is also operated under the EPA Waste Discharge Licence No. ES33144. -
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) FacilityRead More
The Hallam Road site has a Commercial and Industrial Sorting Facility which sorts recyclables from waste loads presented at the weighbridge. Waste loads that are indicated to have a high percentage of recyclables are sent to the C&I; Sorting Facility for further investigation.
The items targeted for diversion from landfill, separation and recycling include:

- Untreated timber
- Cardboard/paper
- Plastics

Outlook Environmental is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission of creating and facilitating sustainable opportunities for people with disadvantaged backgrounds. Around half of Outlook Environmental employees are assisted workers.
Veolia and Outlook Environmental have enjoyed a strong partnership for over 20 years. The partnership involves the joint operation of the Public Waste Transfer Station and the Outlook Market Recycled Goods Store located at Veolia's Hallam Road precinct.
