Keep Disruption to a Minimum with Veolia Pipe Relining Solutions

When a pipe deteriorates, digging it up and replacing it is often the most expensive, disruptive and time-consuming option. Trenchless rehabilitation restores the structural integrity and flow of an existing pipe from the inside, with minimal excavation. Veolia's relining, patching and junction sealing capability rehabilitates ageing and defective assets while keeping disruption to a minimum.

With four dedicated relining crews and specialist patching capability, backed by 170+ years of global water expertise, we deliver a full range of trenchless solutions across the diameter and defect spectrum.

What is Pipe Relining?

Pipe relining installs a new structural lining inside an existing pipe, without the need for full excavation. Because access is typically achieved through existing maintenance holes, relining avoids road reinstatement, traffic management and disruption associated with open-cut replacement.

Patching and junction sealing are localised trenchless repairs. Patching (or top-hatting) targets a specific defect or short section of pipe, while junction sealing addresses infiltration and defects at the connection points where branches meet the main. Together, these methods let asset owners fix exactly what needs fixing, at the right scale and cost.

Learn More About Our Pipe Relining, Patching and Junction Sealing Solutions

Our specialist crews and products cover a wide range of pipe sizes and defect types:

  • Four relining crews specialising in trenchless rehabilitation
  • Fold and Form PVC relining using our exclusive Warrior Thermoform product, with readily available sizes of 150mm, 225mm and 300mm
  • Made-to-order culvert and maintenance hole lining available
  • CIPP-UV (cured-in-place pipe, UV-cured) relining of any size
  • Two COSMIC UV patching and top-hatting specialist vans
  • Conventional patching and junction sealing

Where is Pipe Relining and Patching Most effective?

Trenchless rehabilitation suits reticulation and trunk sewers, stormwater pipes, culverts and maintenance holes affected by cracking, root intrusion, joint displacement, corrosion or infiltration. It is ideal where excavation would be costly or highly disruptive, such as under roads, in built-up areas, or across sensitive environments, and is frequently the recommended outcome of a CCTV condition assessment.

What is the difference between relining and patching?

Relining installs a full new lining along a length of pipe, while patching (or top-hatting) is a localised repair targeting a specific defect or short section. We offer both, plus junction sealing for connection points, so the repair is matched to the defect.

What pipe sizes can you reline?

Our Fold and Form PVC (Warrior Thermoform) is readily available in 150mm, 225mm and 300mm, with made-to-order culvert and maintenance hole lining available. Our CIPP-UV relining can be applied to pipes of any size.

Is relining less disruptive than replacing a pipe?

Yes. Relining is a trenchless method that works from inside the existing pipe, typically via maintenance holes, avoiding the excavation, road reinstatement and traffic disruption of open-cut replacement.

How do I know if my pipe should be relined or replaced?

A CCTV inspection and condition assessment identifies the defect type and severity and provides a recommendation. Veolia can carry out the inspection and, where relining is appropriate, deliver the rehabilitation as well.

What is CIPP-UV relining?

CIPP-UV is a cured-in-place pipe method where a resin-impregnated liner is installed and cured using ultraviolet light, creating a strong, jointless new pipe wall inside the host pipe. We offer CIPP-UV relining of any size.
