Due to recent supplier increases issued by Watercare, the cost of our water and wastewater services will increase by 7% from 1 July 2022. This price charge increase is due to the cost of bulk water and wastewater treatment service increases. For most of our customers, the price increase equates to approximately $1.36 more a week.
Our supplier, Watercare has advised the bulk cost increases were necessary to fund essential services and construction of critical infrastructure in the Auckland Region.
The Infrastructure growth charges, which are set by Watercare and apply across the Auckland Region, will increase by 8%. To learn more about the increases set by Watercare, click here to read their publicly issued statement.
We understand this price increase may cause hardship for some of our customers. For customers who are facing financial challenges at the moment, we encourage them to get in touch with us if they are having difficulty paying their bills. Our team can arrange flexible payment plans or offer assistance through our newly established Customer Assistance Fund, to support customers suffering genuine hardship.
