Our enduring legacy
Veolia Aotearoa NZ is part of the larger Veolia global group that has played a significant role in environmental services around the world for over 170 years. In 1853, the French Emperor Napoleon III signed a decree with Veolia’s founding company, Compagnie Générale des Eaux (the General Water Company). This foundation in water services was then developed into an international company that has been decarbonising, decontaminating and regenerating resources to address the ecological challenges of our time.
