## Dan’s story 

The journey into leadership for Dan Yakas, currently Veolia’s Regional Lead for Whanganui and Taranaki, is an inspiring one. Leaving school after fifth form with no qualifications or school certificates, Dan got a job on the stop/go paddle with a contractor supporting the road maintenance and three waters maintenance teams. Demonstrating hard work, perseverance and the right attitude, Dan was offered a team leader role with Veolia in 2006.
